I’m AJ, 51 year old female. I’ve had ectopic beats all my life and last year they went worse and seem to be going worse each month. I’ve had. 7 day ECG, two ECGs in A&E and 2 ECGs at my GP office and everything is normal. Sinus rhythm and benign ectopics.
I have EDS and due to there being a risk of mitral valve prolapse with this condition I’m due to have another echo scan soon. My last one was in 2015 and all was ok.
I have POTS syndrome and I have gastric issues such as gut motility disorder/gastroparesis, GERD and hiatal hernia.
I am fairly certain that my gastric issues are responsible for the ectopics.
I do hope that we can use this place as a general forum, a place to share information and support and somewhere so that we don’t feel isolated with this condition.

Hello AJ. I guess I'll add my story in the mix too. I'm a 47 year old male. I have been dealing with PVC's since 2008. I've had my fair share of ER visits and Dr visits. I've also had strange panic attacks as well. (I'd get this intense inner cold chill that radiates throughout my body) Eventually I saw a cardiologist, and he ruled out serious heart problems. I learned to deal with PVC's for some time. Not until recently have I started to experience some new type of PVC's that can be sustained unless I actually move or change position to stop them. Typically, it happens when I lay on my left side or flat on my back. Now, even with a wedge pillow, I suffer the same thing. I'd like to add that I do feel bloated at times, and that some PVC's seem to happen right before I feel gas movement. I've explained this to my Dr, but he says it's not related. Anyhow, these new sustained PVC's are very scary. When I have them, it feels like my heart is working harder than it should. It's a very bizarre feeling. I've tried to see how long I can go with them happening, but after the first few PVC's I get up and try to stop them from continuing. I have severe sleep apnea since 2009, and have been treated for it. I am also taking a Propranolol beta blocker. Very small dose, (Half a pill in the morning, half in the evening) I've been to the er many times recently, time and time again with a normal ECG and blood work. I have a echocardiogram soon and a treadmill test. There's more of the story to tell, however this is the jist of it.

It’s my hope that we can all get together and share what we are going through. I fully understand when you talk about sustained PVCs. I get runs that start and last for hours on end, keeping me awake at night and marking me feel weakened. Every few beats skip and I feel every this. I can’t stop them no matter what I do and it feels awful. Ive had ectopics all my life but it’s only from last year when they went worse that I’ve actually started to bother about them. I’ve just stopped taking bisoprolol because they weren’t helping and I e a feeling they were making them worse. In order to get some sleep I’ve just started a low dose (7.5mg) mirtazapine and it’s calming me enough to get my sleep. I am wiped out though at the moment with just starting the mirtazapine wants pretty sedative during the day as well when you first start taking it. Hope you’re having a better day today

Hello Went to hospital with a fib in May. Since then had ectopics Holter reading suggested they were benign. However, in last few weeks they've increased hugely. At the moment, I'm getting one every fourth beat and this has been going on for days. Like others, I suspect some connection to the stomach ( I have a hiatus hernia), but what puzzles me is if related to stomach why are the ectopics occurring in a largely regular fashion - that is, every fourth beat? All the best JD

Hi, just happened upon this site. Thanks to whomever started it.
I’m 47 female and have had ectopics since my 20s. I can usually pinpoint a hormonal cause but now they are more frequent and last most of the month. I am also getting new runs of PVCs that last for a long time. I have the Kardia device that is showing bigeminy a lot.
I also think I have had mild POTS and possibly EDS. I have an aunt with EDS and I’ve always been ridiculously hyper mobile.
There’s most definitely a connection with my pvcs and digestion. I’ve also never been able to burp in my entire life. I’ve been reading about a new procedure that involves Botox injected into an upper sphincter in the throat to help with people who can’t burp.
Sometimes this just all feels so overwhelming and really affects my quality of life. 😢
Hope you’re all doing well.

I too suffer with pots and so many pvs that are now so bad after I eat that I'm afraid to eat.

I saw you guys posted on Dr. Sanjay Gupta's blog. I am also a sufferer with many of the same symptoms as you guys. I created a Telegram Channel to talk about this stuff. I see that this blog has some activity but there is not many people here. Telegram app may be a better way of interacting with each other since it is available on our phones.
